Perhaps you’ve thought about creating a garden but feared you would fail. Or maybe, you have been gardening for years and would love to hang out with other gardeners.

The Victory Garden Club is a newly formed organization in here Boulder County, Colorado. Currently we are bringing together our founding members who have the common love for the joy of gardening. Some have been gardening for years and some are just beginning. We are here to encourage each other and help each other to grow ourselves as we grow our gardens.

Gardeners understand cycles, patience, nurturing, and most of all kindness to the earth. This is why happiness grows in a garden. I’ll help you nurture it.

Begin Here.

Once a gardener gets started, they are eager to explore the multitude of plants that can live in different landscapes and time zones on this earth. They can also enjoy the extra arrival of other of nature’s creatures and earthly components that that arrive when a yard, balcony or raised container becomes a beloved garden

Your Victory.

The term Victory Garden first came to life during World War I when it was necessary for food supplies in the United States to be once again sustained by home gardens.

Impact & Sustainability.

Today’s Victory Garden is a combination of veggies and flowers that bring joy, food, and a sense of calm from their beauty and fragrances.  A garden creates a positive ecological environment and a place for creatures such as bees, birds and butterflies to find food and sustainability.

Vegetables & Herbs

Food might be right up your alley and something you are interested in growing in your garden.

From annual crops that need to be replanted or reseeded, you may want things like lettuce, kale, onions, carrots, beets, basil, and so much more. Or perhaps perennial herbs and foods such as oregano, chives, tarragon, strawberries, hops (for the beer lovers), and again so much more.

Flower Garden

Flowers bring a whole new element to the garden.

Some flowers are wild annual flowers and ever seeding, others are perennial and come back at certain times each year, and others bloom all summer long.

Depending on what your goals and ambitions are in conjunction with flowers the opportunities and beauty are endless.

Zen Garden

Keep it zen.

There is the aspect of creating a Zen garden for those that are looking to just find the peace of a garden with little upkeep or need for water.  You can do this on your own or bring in the expertise of a rock master.

For this garden method, we bring to you the mastery of Rock Balance Artist Travis Ruskus. He will create the garden and then teach you the artistry to maintain your personalized Zen garden.  Gardens can be created in the Boulder/Denver area as well as San Francisco Bay Area in California.

Hi, I'm Cheri Ruskus, a Victory Garden Coach.

While I may not be a master gardener or one of the world’s best gardeners, what I can tell you is that I am a very, very happy gardener. Gardening is a present you not only give to yourself, your family and your friends but also to the birds, the bees and all the other creatures in between.

Over the course of the past 30 years, I have had the most blessed opportunity to garden here in Colorado. Each year growing my garden just a little more than the year before. Each year trying to grow things that I have never grown before.

I have made my share of mistakes, killed a number of plants, grew some amazing unexpected plants from sometimes it seemed that vapors of the earth. And, I have found the plants that bring me the greatest joys like my beloved Zinnia’s.

By the end of the summer day, I can look pretty grubby, and every muscle in my body might be aching but I feel satisfaction in knowing that on that day I hummed along with the earth. Singing along with the birds and the bees.

Come join me on this journey to finding your Victory Garden lifestyle. A place to create to your heart's desires to have it be exactly what you want to make the earth sing.
